African Fashion Week London (AFWL) is one of Europe’s largest and longest-running showcases dedicated to African and African-inspired fashion. Founded in 2011, it celebrates the rich diversity of African culture through fashion, art, and design. Held annually in London, AFWL features runway shows from emerging and established designers across Africa, exhibitions and market stalls offering fashion, beauty, and lifestyle products, cultural showcases including traditional textiles like Adire and Aso-Oke, panels and talks on sustainability, fashion entrepreneurship, and innovation, and collaborations with organizations like the British council and global brands. AFWL aims to promote African creativity, empower designers, and bridge the gap between Africa and the global fashion industry, offering a vibrant, inclusive platform for cultural and creative expression.
