Chelsea F.C. v Nottingham Forest F.C.
On 6TH October 2024, Chelsea Football Club hosted Nottingham Forest Football Club in Gameweek 7 of the Premier League 2024/25 season at Stamford Bridge. The pattern of the game set off similarly to when these two teams met last season, with Chelsea dominating possession and controlling the game in Forest's half. Chelsea forwards Jadon Sancho and Noni Medueke enjoyed a lot of time and space on the wings, but Forest stood strong and compact in their defence throughout the first half. Goalless going into the second half, Forest posed a threat to score from their set pieces and took the lead inside in the first 5 minutes of the restart through New Zealand international Chris Wood. Forest's lead however would be short-lived, with individual brilliance from Noni Madueke to take on his man and equalise for the hosts less than 10 minutes after conceding. Despite Forest being reduced to 10 men through midfielder James Ward-Prowse picking up a second yellow, Chelsea's flurry of attacks failed to break the deadlock. Fantastic saves towards the end of the game from Chelsea and Forest goalkeepers Robert Sánchez and Matz Sels respectively, ensured the point was shared between the hosts and visitors.
